Where Pelican Beach Resort is located in Destin

Pelican Beach Resort is located at 1002 US Highway 98, Destin FL 32541 — right in the heart of the Destin resort corridor, directly on the Gulf of Mexico. The address puts you within minutes of everything worth doing on the Emerald Coast.

Several restaurants are within walking distance on the same block. The resort location is genuinely central — you can reach almost anything in Destin in under 15 minutes.

The private beach — no road to cross

This is the thing that matters most and the thing most people ask about first. Pelican Beach Resort sits directly on the Gulf of Mexico. The Pelican building — where our condos are — is the beachfront building. You take the elevator to the ground floor and you are steps from the sand.

There is a second building on the same property called Terrace at Pelican. That building faces US-98 — it is not beachfront. When you book Unit 707 or Unit 1006 with us, you are in the Pelican building, beachfront, no asterisks.

The beach itself is classic Destin Emerald Coast — white quartz sand that stays cool even in summer, turquoise water that does not look real until you are standing in it. First-time visitors are genuinely surprised by how vivid the color is.

Beach rental service is provided by La Dolce Vita — 2 umbrellas and a chair for $40/day ($50 for front row). Hours are 9am–5pm from March 1 through October 31. Alternatively, both our units include free chairs and an umbrella you can set up behind the rentals.

The beachside Tiki Bar is seasonal — it serves cocktails, drinks, and food directly to the beach seating area. On a good afternoon it is the best seat in Destin.

The pools — three of them, all heated

Pelican Beach Resort has three pools — which is more than most comparable properties on the Emerald Coast:

The indoor pool is what makes Pelican Beach a year-round destination. Even in January, you can swim in a heated pool and walk out to a beach that has no crowds. Off-season Destin is genuinely underrated.

We manage two independently owned Gulf-front condos at Pelican Beach — both 1BR/2BA, both sleeping up to 6, both with private balconies facing west over the Gulf for sunset every evening.

All 339 units at Pelican Beach Resort are individually owned. Some are well-maintained and recently renovated. Some are not. Booking through a large platform gives you no guarantee of which you get.
